It was probably inevitable; the convergence of the wedding ceremony and the iPod. After all, ATM machines replaced bank tellers, why shouldn't iPods replace wedding reception DJs? In fact, why not just download the wedding ceremony of your choice, complete with Mendelssohn's Wedding March, to an iPod and save on the organist and soloist?
We're not sure about all the motivations for an iPod wedding, but more and more wedding planners are seeing DJs and organists replaced with iPods as a cheaper way of adding music to a wedding. We've also seen the iPod popularity increase at destination weddings where the bride and groom want ultimate control over the musical tracks played at their reception. An iPod lets them pick the songs they want and the order they want to be played.
